Elizabeth co-founded the Virginia Green New Deal coalition the is determined to leave a better planet to her four children, which is why she took on the environment as one of her key issues as a legislator. The League of Conservation Voters named Elizabeth a “Legislative Leader” in 2020.

Elizabeth knows we need bold, urgent action to take on climate change. That’s why she introduced a resolution declaring climate change an emergency that was passed by the House.

Elizabeth introduced and passed a bill into law that requires larger localities to consider incorporating transit-oriented development into their comprehensive plans. This initiative was a Green New Deal priority.

Elizabeth does not accept money from Dominion and was quoted in USA Today when Dominion pulled out of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. She also supports de-regulating the energy market so that Dominion does not have a monopoly as we transition to a clean energy economy.

Elizabeth received an A+ rating from the Sierra Club and an A with “Extra Credit” from the Virginia League of Conservation Voters.

She passed a bill to study and create recommendations for regulating PFAS in water.
